Summary
Manuscript volume of case notes from the Philadelphia Dispensary and the Pennsylvania Institute for the Deaf and Dumb from May 24, 1818, to December 24, 1828. Case entries include names, ages, diagnoses, treatments, and sometimes outcomes (fatal or non-fatal). Illnesses treated range from cataract operations to accidental poisonings to measles to fevers. Some entries are prefaced by brief narratives which discuss the author's experience with similar cases, his relationships with the patients, and general remarks. Also included at the back of the volume is a list of students attending materia medica lectures at the College of Pharmacy, 1833-1834
