  • Contains three parts: De vita sana (leaves a1-c1); De vita longa (leaves c2-e8); and De vita caelitus (leaves f1-l5), to which is appended Ficino's Apologia (leaves l6-m2r) and Quod necessaria sit ad vitam securitas (leaves m2v-m3v). Each part has a separate dedication by Marsilio Ficino. The penultimate leaf contains added verses by Amerigo Corsini, stating that Filippo Valori paid for the expense of publication

  • Foliated in ms. Some contemporary and modern ms. annotations in margins. With the early ownership inscription of Jo. Paulus Gardinus at the end of the table and the later ownership inscription of Michael Wodhull, dated Apr. 15th 1789, on the front flyleaf. An annotation in Wodhull's hand suggests that he may have purchased this book at the "Pinelli Auction".
  • Purchased by the College of Physicians of Philadelphia from Davis & Orioli prior to 10 March 1920.
  • Bound in quarter vellum over cream paper boards, with gold-stamped red and black Morocco spine labels.
  • Leaf size: 280 x 205 mm. Wide margins.
