Note
  • Title from incipit on leaf [a2]
  • Imprint from colophon (verso of leaf t8), which reads: Impressa Mediolani. p[er] Cristofo[rum]. Ualdarfer Ratisponensem. Anno domini. M.C.C.C.C.LXXvj. Die xvij. mensis Julij
  • The signatures are placed far down in the lower right-hand corner of the page and are only visible in uncut copies. Cf. BM
  • Signatures: al℗ b-cl° d€ el° f-t€ v¡ (a1 and v6 blank)
  • Chancery folio, printed in double columns. 56 lines to a full column; area of text: 212 x 144 mm.; col. width: 64 mm. Initial spaces with guide-letters. Without foliation and catchwords. With signatures
  • This edition exists in two slightly different type-settings. In the British Museum copy IB.26228, "sheets a1-4, 6 and quires b, c are of a different setting-up. That this is later than the other [i.e. IB. 26227] is shown by the paper, which is unwatermarked and has distinct chain-lines, whereas in the copy above [i.e. IB. 26228] the sheets in question are printed on paper watermarked with the rosette and with almost invisible chain-lines, which is that used throughout the body of the book. In both copies quire v (containing the table) is printed on the unwatermarked paper, and so is sheet a5, suggesting that the whole original stock of this sheet met with an accident. The table was perhaps taken over as an afterthought from that with the same incipit in the edition of De Colonia and Manthen at Venice of the same year, a copy of which may have reached Valdarfer while the present book was in hand." Cf. BM 15th cent., vol. 6, p. 726, IB. 26227, IB. 26228
