Note

Early Latin ms. notes in margins. Title written in French and Latin on t.p. Faces have been sketched by a reader in brown ink in a few of the initial spaces.

Two early ownership inscriptions: 1.) On recto of last leaf: "Jani Antonij gagliardi et Amico[rum]" [i.e. possibly Giovanni Antonio Gagliardi, physician, mentioned 1632-1645]; 2.) On verso of last leaf: "Ex libris Georgij Scotie(?)". A third inscription on t.p. has been inked over. Bookplate on front pastedown: "Ex Bibliotheca de Cardenas".
Acquired by the College of Physicians of Philadelphia prior to 10 Aug. 1932 in exchange from the Boston Medical Library.
Armorial binding: full calf with coat of arms and fillet borders stamped in gold on front and back covers; five raised bands on spine with gold-stamping in spine panels; "Plato" stamped in gold on spine; all edges gilt; green silk marker. Rebacked.
