In the background, a castle is on the left and a tree on the right. This is a different version of the woodcut used in the 1488 Strasbourg edition. Cf. Schreiber, W.L.   • Provenance: Vol. 1 has an early ownership inscription on t.p. dated 1494 that has been inked over and is now illegible. Vols. 1 and 2 have the ink stamp of the Capuchins in Parma ("Bibliothecae. Capucin. Parmae") on t.p.
  • Acquired by the College of Physicians of Philadelphia prior to March 4, 1924; with the bookseller's catalog description pasted to the front free endpaper.
